Sally J. Guzik

Vice President

Sally J. Guzik is a Vice President at Fourth Economy, where she specializes in economic development, strategic planning, and community engagement. In her role, she spearheads initiatives to enhance organizational capacity and foster equitable access and economic mobility for disinvested communities. Her strategic efforts are underscored by her ability to lead impactful social initiatives and promote sustainable development across diverse industries.

With Fourth Economy, Sally led the Central New York Community Engagement Committee, which was pivotal in developing the Community Priorities Document. This initiative, a bipartisan collaboration across five counties, set a precedent for regional planning and established a framework for effectively addressing community needs. The project will result in an up to $100 billion investment by Micron over the next 20-plus years and the creation of 9,000 new high paying Micron jobs. This is the largest private investment ever made in New York’s history, and one of the largest industrial manufacturing investments in the history of the United States.

Prior to her current role, Sally was the Executive Director at the Cambridge Innovation Center's Philadelphia location, the nation's largest shared wet lab facility for biotech startups. There, she launched the Backstage Capital accelerator program and established a social impact cohort that has since been replicated in four additional U.S. locations, serving as a national model for supporting social impact organizations.

Sally began her career in environmental engineering consulting, working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency and the US Army Corps of Engineers. This experience gave her a solid foundation in environmental regulation and project management. Her early career also included a significant focus on marketing and communications, where she successfully drove national recognition for farm-to-fork restaurants by securing media coverage with prominent outlets such as Conde Nast, Food Network, Cooking Channel, and LA Times, thus promoting sustainable dining and stimulating economic growth within the sector.

Sally holds a Master of Science (MS) in Global Strategic Communications with a focus on the diffusion of innovation and crisis management and various certifications, including Trauma-Informed Care Practitioner, Mental Health First Aid Responder, crisis management, and educational leadership. She has also completed specialized training with the Racial Equity Institute, the Center for Civil and Human Rights, and Decolonization training focused on working with Indigenous peoples in the Americas. These qualifications enhance her leadership capabilities, enabling her to guide strategic initiatives and foster inclusive environments effectively.
