Little Kanawha River Trail Feasibility Study and Recreational Economy Plans

Region VII Planning and Development Council

Region VII Planning and Development Council (Region VII PDC), in collaboration with the West Virginia Pioneer Network, is undertaking a comprehensive economic impact and feasibility study for the communities within the Little Kanawha River Trail, as well as recreational economy plans for three counties within this region of West Virginia - Nicholas, Webster, and Roane. This initiative aims to support the Little Kanawha River Trail by identifying opportunities for sustainable economic growth and enhanced recreational opportunities in the target counties.


Fourth Economy is undertaking the dual planning process. Both studies include engagement, asset inventories, analysis, strategy development, and ultimately, actionable recommendations and implementation guides.
